At the end of June I went on a weekend course to learn lampworking (making glass beads), it was absolutely brilliant. Diana East and Sally Carver (both well known and excellent bead artists) were teaching the workshop and imparted loads of knowledge, tips and techniques. They made it look sooo easy tho!
Here are my attempts! This is the very first bead I made...
and here are the rest of the beads I made over the weekend...
I'm really pleased with my first attempts and can't wait to get myself set up with a little studio and get melting some glass!

My First Post
Exciting stuff, the first post on my new blog!
It's taken me a while to get round to doing this, and quite a few other things, but I seem to be on a roll!
And, I've just booked myself on to a lampworking beginners course in 2 weeks time, which I'm soooo excited about. I can't wait to learn how to make beautiful glass beads. I can sense the credit card cowering in a corner anticipating bashing it's going to be getting with the set up cost of my new glass work studio. It will, I'm sure, be worth it :)
